You Like Us, You Really Like Us!

When I created Broadway Up Close over five years ago I had humble ideas about what information and stories I wanted to share with our guests. Since the first tour I've always loved hearing what questions our tour-goers have in addition to their amazing personal stories. So much of what they've asked and inquired about has informed what content we've added to enhance our BUC journey on each and every tour with every member of the BUC team.

What I never anticipated enjoying, and staking my company pride on, were the personal reviews that have been shared on TripAdvisor.com. Time and time again, review by review, I'm constantly amazed at the wonderful feedback from our guests. We've had many guests mention that they NEVER write reviews but after their tour with us for the first time they felt compelled to tell others in the form of a review. When I hear that I can't help but smile from ear to ear!

Well, it's been five and a half years since our first tour and I'm proud to revel in the fact that we have surpassed our 500th 5-star review on TripAdvisor! WOOOO HOOOO! As the reviews have poured in over the years we've read each and every one and taken them all to heart. I am constantly impressed by the articulation and sophistication of each entry.

And just when I thought I'd read them all, I received one review last week that started my day off with a grin. I always love hearing descriptions of what the BUC experience is from the mouths of those that have walked the sidewalks with us, and I think Jim P.'s review below is a great summation of everything we offer:

"It's A Must For Broadway Fans"

So, you like Broadway shows. Maybe it was that Godspell production that you did in high school. Or maybe you watch the Tonys every June and want to learn all you can about all the shows. Whether you’re new to Broadway or a hard-core fan, this is the tour for you. I’ve now done all three tours, Act I, II, and III and I have to say I’ve never before had so much fun on a walking tour as I did with Tour Guide Tim and his associates. All of the guides of BUC have wonderful stories to tell you about the history of the theaters, the architecture, the shows that played there, the stars of the shows and sometimes even the ghosts that still haunt them. You’ll learn a lot and have a lot of laughs doing it. The best part for me was hearing lots of backstage stories of the current shows. Don’t worry if you’ve never done a “walking tour” before. The tours are not strenuous at all, mostly standing across the street from the theaters being talked about. And at 2 hours max, it’s just the right amount of time to take it all in and not get overloaded. But they do talk fast, so pay attention, or you’ll miss a good bit of trivia that will wow your friends at home. By the way, this is not a paid plug. I’ve got no connection with this company. But after 40 years of theater going in NY, I found these tours to be a real gem for Broadway fans. I thought I was a pretty savvy theater goer, but even I learned a lot of cool stuff. Go Broadway!

Thank you to Jim P. and the other 500 5-star reviewers who have taken a minute out of their day to share their BUC experience with the rest of the world! Thanks to you we've been able to continue sharing our message with thousands of other like minded individuals. To reiterate what Jim P. said: GO BROADWAY!

See you on the sidewalks!
